I remember this episode, it’s so out of place even in the first season. Honestly this plot could have been lifted from an episode of the Superfriends or another Saturday morning adventure cartoon. I love DS9, it’s my favorite Trek series and I remember seeing this when it first aired and forgot about it totally. Then I saw it again randomly on TV decades later and it felt like a fever dream I’d just unearthed from the deep memory hole.
