The entire population was destroyed in a solar flare and the planet is ready to be inhabit after only 19 years. (planned 15 years)
They had technology for warp reactors and subspace transmitters but their entire species was on the planet at the time. No active ships, whether in orbit, or in other systems. All that’s left of them is that one small group.
Despite all that advanced technology it’s suggested that they had no idea of the impending disaster until evacuation would have been made impossible from atmospheric disturbances. Yet they still had time to devised that thing, and shield from EM, and knew how long until they could leave it.
So… were they going to repopulate their planet with 5 people, and those those are the 5 people they picked?
Man, I need to put this show on my binge list. I don’t think I care about its pitfalls.
