Not gonna lie, I kind of like the animation of the Good Times features. Yeah, it’s budget and cuts a lot of corners, but it’s overall competent and looks like a typical 80s Saturday morning cartoon. What blows my mind is how amateurish and ugly the Dingo pictures are in contrast, considering they were shitting out that stuff on DVD and game console discs and had a whole distribution plan apparently. They couldn’t hire one struggling professional cartoonist or voice actor?
I guess the moral of the story is, if I got these Good Times DVDs as a kid, I wouldn’t be upset. As an adult I can see all the flaws and cut corners.
