XD I think this is the best episode of Movie Nights so far, keep it up.
I have seen very few of anything Mary-Kate and Ashley outside of ‘Going to Grandmothers House’ many, many years ago. Not to mention you guys managed to find the bottom of the barrel MikeJ has not gone down to with their movie series. I will admit I do find their younger years in movies more tolerable, but none of their movies are really all that memorable.
In the last movie during the text scroll, I was thinking that was really needing the theme music from the original Final Fantasy. That would have sold me alone for the movie.

I’ve watched Full House, but I never stopped at my local video store to pick up one of the Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen movies or picked up any of their products, and that’s mostly because I have a penis.
3:42- I also take it that no one came as their favorite Matrix character. If I went to that “cyberspace dance,” I would go a Smith.
4:29- “MY WIDE ANGLE LENS IS ABOUT TO BURST!”
I guess we see the twins get annoyed in the bloopers because they were in middle school when they did the school dance video, and they’re starting to realize how much they were typecasted.

OMG, the Sea World video is freakin’ horrifying.
24:32- I wish the audience in that scene DID have a heckler just like that.
Why would an old lady in Transylvania hire two little American girls to investigate a haunted mansion? A slightly better choice would have been to hire a couple of internet reviewers.
36:19- It’s a good thing Elizabeth Olsen had a career after appearing in these videos, buy appearing in films like last year’s Godzilla, and we’ll see her as The Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron in two months.
We used to watch the movies of the Olsens when they were little girls about 20 years ago at daycare.
Old Sea World Orlando and the Shamu and friends mascots! So nostalgic! Those mimes were kickass. They would keep the crowd entertained while everyone waited for the dolphin or Clyde & Seamore Show to start.
Wait, I got it. They traveled across the Atlantic by using their parents’ machine to talk to dolphins and hitch a ride with them.
And jeez, Lizzie didn’t even get to go on the cruise with them. She really must be the unfavorite.
And now Elizabeth Olsen is chilling with Godzilla and making that Marvel money. Funny how things turn out, ain’t it? 😀

She should have dropped the dead weight of Mary Kate YEARS AGO.
I had a friend in gradeschool who was mildly obsessed with Mary-Kate and Ashley, so I was subjected to a pile of VHS tapes every time I went to her house – mostly the mystery ones. This was a jolt to the memory, as I had completely forgotten the sight of Mrs. Busybody and her weird Roman Emperor hairpiece. And that annoying penguin dance. This was such a fun episode! Well done!
Best episode of Movie Nights so far. Having Phelan around helps a lot.

Alright. I am starting to dig the format, it was hard to get into a first but I think i’ve gotten used to it; and having the scene your referning on the size is way better then cutting to it.
It has a nice “Talking to your friend” feel to it and feels honest. I like it, keep up the good work Allison! ^-^
During the 90’s. As a kid I enjoy the advanture episode, detective episode’s and the NASA episode, etc. We borrow the vhs tapes from the lyrbrary….though I hardly remeber anything from it now…probebly really corny. Only thing I mostly remember is me and my sisiter singing ” brother for sell” ahahah. Maybe few of the movie I mostly remeber was where they try go to grandma house and then in anothere movie they go and live on a farm or something. I think as they got older the movie and tv show got worse.

Yeah, same here. I grew up with all of their innocent childhood stuff, including their music. I thought they dropped off the face of the earth after It Takes 2. When I found out that they’d been spitting out direct-to-DVD movies that were all essentially the exact same story where they portray women as shallow things that only think about boys, fashion, jewelry, makeup, ponies/cars, & shopping, I was beyond disappointed with them.
Given how I can’t stand Full House, which I loved as a kid, I don’t think any of this stuff would make a good support beam for dilapidated nostalgia.
I wonder if they would end up fucking up the domain the same way FearDotCom did and the website for the dance thing or whatever would be springdancedotcom.com.
It’s almost 1 in the morning so I can’t watch the entire video just yet, but I wanted to comment on this while I remembered it.
In the early 2000s (or maybe late 90s) I had a CD which was, I kid you not, CALLED ‘www.coolhits.com’. That was the name of the CD. So a school dance called ‘Springdance.com’ or whatever actually makes perfect sense to me.

No, just no. That phrase alone brings back bad reminders of Bubsy. It would be like a bad Mary-kate and Ashley movie staring Bubsy for some insanely stupid reason. Actually, make that happen, the sheer stupidity of ‘what could possibly go wrong?’ could maybe be the best thing ever and do it in the same awesome CGI as The Amazing Bulk.

Haha, this was hilarious! Haha, what was happening?! It was like the Twilight Zone in a way. LOL. As a kid, I only liked their New York movie and their Survivor movie.
Great episode. My only complaint is my husband has now been singing B-U-T-T Out for a solid day and it’s driving me crazy.
Why were they so popular in the first place? They can barely act, and have the screen presence of an orc in Lord of the Rings. Just because they were twins? Did the hollywood exposure machine turn them popular be a freak accident? It has always astounded me.
Only Two Words: Full House
There was a series of Mary Kate and Ashley videogames which were amazing (4/10 stars). In my favourite one, they got trapped in a cursed shopping mall, but my mum banned it because Mary Kate called someone a “cow” in it. Good times. I was lucky enough to avoid all the childhood tapes though, for some reason I always thought they started doing… whatever it is they do… in their teens. Now I feel bad for them, please don’t force your tiny children to “act” in creepy Seaworld movies.

Ugh. Could they look any more wooden? I know they’re children and under a lot of stress with everybody shoving them into these movies but at least PRETEND you give a damn!
Oh well, it sure made this review hilarious. Phelan’s theories on these two’s “Detective Career” being mental psychosis had me laughing so hard I was crying. I hope you guys do another one of these with a MK&A theme. Then again, the pain you two would have to endure seeing any more of these may be too much to bare so maybe I better B-U-T-T OUT!
ooooommmmmmmgggggg. Imagine you’re of a set of identical twins. And everyone refers to you and your sister as Mary Kate and Ashely and you have the depths of my hatred for these two. Their automaton acting make all twins look bad. And I know Hollywood types like to cast young twins in roles for children, so that the memorization of lines can be split up, but Full House seemed to try and push them through the limelight. At least now I can say they evolved past these direct to videos crap to actually doing something else, which is their fashion line. At least they didn’t get buried by the backlash. When these videos were being made, said sister and I were in our teens so we skipped it. Except our younger sister wanted to rent them alot!
Anyways, still same set up, but it was more fun this time cause the material was so bad I could cringe 😛 I loved this Movie Nights!
Okay the Thorn Mansion one was mildly amusing in that they accurately portray older twin siblings dissing their young sister. We used to riff on our younger sister like that horrid B-U-T-T out song so it made me crack up. Now I get along with this sister and apologized for being a deck to her. But seeing that part made me crack the heck up 😛

NBever understood why these two kept making movie after movie… were the Illuminati funding them? They are annoying, not very talented compared to oither child actors, and as MikeJ can atest to, every plot of their movies is the SAME.
