This review was a surprise to me. My thought was “Why mess with a classic?”. Then again, I’ve never seen the original.

Surprising review, though I have never seen this movie myself.

The general consensus and conventional wisdom is that it’s terrible, because how can you make a sequel to an Alfred Hitchcock classic! Blasphemy! I personally think Hitchcock is a little over-rated… Not bad by any stretch, but over-rated.

I’m definitely going to give this one a shot.

I’ve seen the original Psycho and I enjoyed it. Alfred Hitchcock is my favourite director and I really need to see more of his films.

Had you not explained why this movie actually is good, I probably would be another one that would have just seen it as a cheap sequel cash-in arriving about 20 years too late and would have skipped it. Now that you’ve said to check it out, I just might. Even if it doesn’t have the Hitchcock touch (as Hitchcock was dead by this point), it still looks like it has a very talented director.

I’m pretty sure I can say it looks better than the Psycho remake.
