I have to admit, there is something kind of impressive about Nibbelink making three movies basically by himself. The end result is a bit shaky, but the guy clearly has dedication to his work and it’s good to see he improved so much by his third movie.
It’s weird to think of how Flash went from an animation program for amateurs to a program used for major TV animation to being dumped in favour of Toon Boom in just under two decades.
So I guess it was Nibbelink who started this weird trend in animated movies and TV shows where young boy characters are voiced by grown-ass dudes who don’t make any attempt to alter their voices to sound like kids so the characters sound like grown-ass dudes despite being kids (Dipper from Gravity Falls, Huey, Dewey and Louie from the 2017 DuckTales, Aaron Mitchell from The Mitchells Versus the Machines). Turns out this guy was on the vanguard.
The odd thing about watching even the review, is that you get used to the weird stretching and squashing after a while. Not that it starts to look good, but it becomes less jarring.

The human male is like a weird mix of Aladdin & Dave Seville from the 80s Chipmunks series.
Speaking of early 2000s flash animation done by a one man team, have you ever seen Adam Phillips’ Brakenwood series?
