There was a Ripley’s Believe it or not from the 1980s hosted by Jack Palance. I remember watching it with my family when I was very young, and I remember liking it a lot as a kid.
Also, yes…he said the title phrase as though believing it or not was a matter of life or death in that dramatic, raspy way that only he could.
That’s not even the first…Apparently the first Ripley’s TV show was done in the 1950’s.
I remember the 1982 – 1986 Believe It Or Not with Jack Palance too. It was Jack Palance at his Jack Palanceiest and it was great. A 90’s edition of the show with Dean Stockwell would have been fantastic too and I wonder why it never happened. Now I’m wondering if there is a dryer lint portrait of Jack Palance out there… preferably with him in his Outlaw of Gor priest-king costume.
I just love how excited Allison is about finally solving the portrait mystery:-)
I’m glad when mysteries get solved. Shame you probably won’t get a hold of that episode though, unless someone bootlegs it. It would probably be an interesting watch.
