So, filmed in Vancouver with a few minutes of footage of Times Square which has prominent Batman movie promos… The Next Mutation is the TMNT version of Jason Takes Manhattan.
Regarding the turtles being siblings:
1) They were raised by Splinter and thus brothers through adoption.
2) The retro mutagen ooze mutates based on the last being the subject came in contact with. Assuming this would be the boy that owned them as pets they were all mutated from the DNA of the same person.
Wait, an Andrew Dickman title cover??? Yayyyyy. Did he do the cover for The Next Mutation a long time ago and you are only using it now or will he be doing the cover image for all your stuff again? Or will he be just doing the covers of this new Super Series?
I was a couch potato in 96 & I had no idea this existed. I think I would have avoided it for some of the same reasons I avoided Big Bad Beetle Borgs.
That’s…. Probably the worst theme song I’ve ever heard. At least the alternative had a decent beat.
This iteration of Turtles was after my time, and I vaguely remember hearing the tagline “The Next Mutation” at some point, but had no idea there were any live action turtles besides the movies until recently.
This could have been decent, and a female turtle could have livened up a stale franchise at that point had it been done right, but this show looks just too silly and reeks of being created by committee with no real vision besides milking a popular franchise.
