This episode is just painful, even now I can’t watch those Raiden scenes without making high-pitched wailing noises and covering my face. The next episode, however, is my favourite of the series. Sure it’s the embodiment of ?????? but, hey, it satisfied me on an deep emotional level and that’s what’s really important for a show, right? 🙂
The best thing about this one is when Taja’s thief friend claims she can distract people by unbuttoning her shirt… In a world where almost every female character walks around in their underwear all the time and no one bats an eyelash.
You know what’s the worst thing about this episode, it’s a pointless filler right before the finale. Even if there was a second season why even brother with such a pointless episode this late in the series, this is something you do at the beginning. Though this episode kinda proves my theory that Shao Kahn can “invade” another world as long as he doesn’t step foot there.

Any luck we can have something like drunk festive Raiden on a coffee mug? That would really make me smile on an otherwise ominous Monday morning.
It seems like Shal Kan was replaced by Beauties father/Old Man. Also it looks like Raiden realized what show he was in and got drunk in order to withstand the obvious stupidity in their reality.
Siro would be the best character in Mortal Kombat X.

finally. it’s so good to see another MKC review. you know something, it’s about time Raiden got to have some fun with women. normally he’s either too seriously or making witty jokes. the first time I saw Raiden being a horny perv, I couldn’t stop laughing. while I do find the next & final episode to be one of the best in the series, I still think while Raiden drinking at the bar and having sex with a hooker is rather dumb, it’s still hilarious.
Not to double comment, but I have to say that, even though I was a big fan of this show when it first aired, I was much younger (and stupider) back then. You mention in this video that the show punished people for paying attention, and it’s funny. I think that back when I watched this show, I was young enough to the point where, in fact, I really didn’t pay all that much attention. I was just a dorky teenager who really had a thing for Taja/Kristanna Loken. I used to get really annoyed that they didn’t have her character do more. I mean, supposedly, Taja was part of the Earthrealm-saving team, and yet, we almost never saw her fighting. What the shit is that???
Anyway, I can’t wait to see you cover the finale.

Like besides the bee women plot nothing really important has taken place, just characters appearing then disappearing off the face of the realm/planet.

I’m not gonna lie: I didn’t realize they were referring to Shao Kahn. I thought the cult of Shakan was going to introduce the Shokan and then never follow up on them. That seemed more like the style of Conquest than making it Shao Kahn.
Ah this episode of Conquest made me cry, and the next one is worse. At this point one has to wonder if the Elder Gods even exist, and if the Sacred Suggestions of Mortal Kombat were just some kind of bluff Raiden put over Khan at some point long ago.

Well, you have to admit, back in the Golden Age Catwoman DID wear a purple outfit… and a green cape, too. 😀
Frankly thought that’s a pretty sexy outfit, and I like the claw-weapons.
“nectar of me” was, IMHO, funny. As useless as Raiden is in this series, I always liked him – he was funny. Sure he could not fight, he is a god – unlike in the games where he can die easily, here he would be overly powerful if he ever fought.

As amazing as its finale being “everybody dies” was, I kinda wish there was more of this show, like a second season or a full movie (preferably made for TV on a barely-slightly-bigger budget so we still get to see the hilarious awful effects and acting). Not only would that round things off a bit, but it’d give you a bit more fodder for reviews.
