While these weren’t the worst Transformers knock offs I’ve seen I do have to wonder if the makers hated kids, because if an adult has problems with the toys think what a poor child would go through. I mean if I had these as a child I think I would cry trying to use these with my other Transformers knock offs and my official Rattrap,Dinobot, and Inferno who were the only official Transformers I had as a child, weird.
That isn’t a knock off of the seeker mold, it looks a lot more like ROTF Breakaway: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:ROTFDeluxe_Breakaway_variant_color.JPG it’s kind of funny to think that someone made a hunchbacked transformer on purpose, and then someone ELSE decided to bootleg it.
Ah, yeah they definitely got some stuff from that guy. It’s like they combined a seeker and that Breakaway.
Almost all the movie formers are really ugly to me anyway so I shouldn’t be surprised that’s where a stupid idea like that came from, heh.
Ouch, poor Orangescream. It looks like it hurts to be you. Well, moreso than usual. It looks like he was based on a Classics Seeker in some places, just missing a few key points of articulation. But in other places, it almost looks like maybe they combined pieces of a different jet toy with a Classics Seeker for…reasons.
“Town of Police” is just a literal Cybertronian-to-English translation of Praxus, obviously. This is why we don’t rely exclusively on google translate.
At first I thought those glyphs running along the border of the box were the same ones they used in Bayformers and the recent IDW comics, but upon closer inspection they just appear to be swirls and scribbles.
Loved all the G1/Headmasters shoutouts. Also good to know I’m not the one who throws a tantrum and swears when I can’t figure out a transformation sequence.
Wow, now that‘s some video output. If the amount of content you produce is in direct correlation to your level of happiness, you must be in an amazing mood as of late.
It looks like the Robotic Fighters would have come from a dollar store instead of Big Lots. Dont know if im really surprised by that or not, yet still they are at least not complete blatant copies. Still, they are far better than Dinosaur Invisibility yet much lower than Super Thomas.
Even with my experience with transformers, I understand your frustration with models that do not work like they are suppose to. That Prowl/Prawn whatever must have been annoying enough to that you could have tossed or ripped apart limb that was not working. Since those models there are not impossible to transform, but are not built well enough to even hold themselves together.
Hey Phelous– leaving a comment is no problem on this website, but replying to them (for me anyway) is “borked,” to use your site’s terminology. Clicking “reply” on a comment opens up the text box, but doesn’t let me click inside to type. Just thought I’d let you know.
Anyway: if you ever do wind up getting a display case for all of these bootleg toys, you’ll have to use it as a set for your future review of Dark Harvest 2. ;P
I kinda dig Prowlswipe, looks decent enough. Could see myself using it for a custom of some sort at the very least. But that Starscream… Really looks Bayformer Breakaway inspired, but completely mangled and mixed with other unknown parts…
BTW Phelan, have you ever come by the Classic TMNT turtles bootlegs by any chance? I’ve been meaning to get the original ones for a while but they’re hard to find at a decent price, however the chinese bootlegs are extremely cheap on ebay and they seem to look okay so I’m really tempted… I’m looking for an “expert” opinion though. Are they any good?
I’ve looked at them but haven’t bought any to check out yet. They do look similar but I have heard they do come off a little cheaper Also there are certain ones that seem to be cheaper than others because I’ve heard of little pieces of missing articulation on some or limbs popping off. (not broken, just they’d have to be popped back in)
That’s the best I can really say without seeing them in person.
LOOL, Billy! So I see you have suffered through the Star dub of Headmasters too, Phelous. 🙂 I’d get a blast out of you reviewing some episodes of that! 🙂
“Shut up Weirdwolf, you are just an idiot with a swollen head. Bwhahahaha!”
Just playing devil’s advocate here, but isn’t “Transformers” a pretty generic name too? Less thought went into that name than Tonka’s Go-Bots. At least Go-Bots seems like a name that took three seconds to think up. Transformers? That’s not a name that’s a description. XD
Also, many police cars say “Public Safety” on them, or used to, anyway, so Knockoff!Prowl’s insignia saying that isn’t too unusual. “Town of Police” is pretty dumb though.

Haha, I find it kind of extra frustrating when I KNOW how I’m supposed to do it, I just can’t actually made the damn thing do it.
You should make sure these things hook up with Titanic Bot, the greatest fake Transformer yet to appear on this show.

Nice reference to that horrible Malaysian Headmasters dub! I kind of felt like I was the only one who had seen that up until now.
Oh I love that stupid dub. I want to do something on that eventually. I also referenced that in the oversized soundwave ep with “New Soundwave”.
Where do all these toys go when you’ve finished reviewing them? Your rooms must have so much shelving 😛
Some I have on display but others go back into a box when I’m done. I need to get one of those display cases for some of these eventually.
Another episode so soon. You spoil us =^.^=
We had a Big Lots shut down a year or two ago. Real ghetto (slummy) place.
Feel the magic, hear the farts, Thundercraper’s loose.
What glorious bootleg Transformers can I find?

I own that very Donatello from that picture now. I haven’t come across another one of those yet.
Saving a review of it for a day you can snag 3 more?
If anuyone ever wants to watch that weird Ninja Turtles anime, I found it. No subtitles though:

Try using a different browser. I used to have problems with this sit e a lot before the revamp.

I could just watch the whole show made of Phelous playing with these toys.

“Shut up Weirdwolf, you are just an idiot with a swollen head. Bwhahahaha!”
“So, Fortress Maximus has come himself.”
“Darn it Soundwave!”
Orangescream/Grandex seems to be actually a hybridisation of the seeker mold and the movie Breakaway: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-images/toys/rotf/Autobots_001/Breakaway+-+Deluxe/ At least the really silly cockpit-head is from that mold.

Old Man Prowlswipe was always my favorite Transformer.
