The only reason anyone remember the Titanic is because movies were made. If 9/11 gets no movies, no one will remember it in 100 years.
Sure this toy is in bad taste, but who’s still alive to be offended by it? The Titanic didn’t even make the “top 10 most lives lost on a sinking ship” list. Of course, countries that don’t speak English wouldn’t have mentioned the Titanic disaster in history class, so most of the world just thinks it’s a ship from a Leonardeo DeCaprio movie.
Speaking of lead paint, ever heard of the old Dutch Boy children’s lead paint coloring book? A coloring book all about painting everything in your house from head to toe in lead?
I agree. There’s no way 9/11 will be forgotten so soon, unless it’s being overshadowed by something even more devastating. Like a terrorist attack with nuclear weapons or World War 3 or something. Also, once the initial shock rubs off, greedy Hollywood producers will be all over the subject.
That’s a surprisingly good bootleg, even if the alt-mode is questionable. It kinda makes me want to see an edit of Titanic where the ship just turns into a giant robot to destroy the iceberg, but I think that makes me a bad person.
I guess the belief is tastelessness sells, or maybe they just believed Titanic was only a movie. The world may never know, or care. On the bright side, at least this has super “sailing action”, that makes it give me infinite pleasure!

I had one of those when i was young! Same package and all! At the time i didn’t understand the concept of bootleg toys (didn’t even understand english back then), so i thought it was the same people making all the Transformers (or, you know, the “Transformable” ones).
It always felt weird to play with the Titanic-bot and my (quite authentic) Beast Wars Megatron. Let’s say that the quality difference was quite palpable. But the Titanic Transformer seemed totally legit compared to the crappolla Speed Bikers i had that were also featured in one of the old bootlegs…

Also, does it make me a bad person if I admitted to laughing at the ending of Titanic the first time I saw it.

So Bay will make it so that the Titanic was a decepticon in Trans4mers in his attempt to “National Treasure” everything in that franchise to relate robots from space with history.
Yay, Phelous is back/not dead!! Secondly, I could imagine this going great with say a pull-string toy of the rapping dog from that one animated Titanic movie. It certainly would be weird/offensive enough. Maybe they could come with a bag of collectible magic moon tears too to top it off.
Hey Phelous I’m a longtime fan and just wanted to recommend the awful horror movie “Dead Silence” (2007) to you, since it seems like your kind of thing to pan. It’s from the creators of Saw but dare I say it may be worse than any of the Saw films, which is saying alot.
It’s so offensive that the Titanic Bot should be first beamspammed to death by Kira Yamato (AKA. Jesus Yamato) and his Strike Freedom Gundam, then slashed into half by Shinn Asuka/Heine Westenfluss’s Destiny Gundam along with Setsuna F. Seiei and the 00 Qan[T], and finally erased from existence by Genesic GaoGaiGar’s “GOLDION……CRUSHER!!!!”.
Well now, that’s about as horribly inappropriate as an action figure can get, haha XD
Some of these bizarre bootlegs are silly at best, some weird in how head-scratching they are in concept, but a titanic transformer? Who actually thought THIS was a good idea?!
