I have to say, when I first saw this movie, I knew nothing of the games, and actually found it to be a very entertaining and intensely creepy and haunting film. Although now that I am a fan of the games and have learned more about them, the movie sort of makes me angry. It’s like the director basically said “F You” to the fans and tweeked the script to his liking, instead of what the audience wanted. If it were to be a pseudo adaptation or something I can understand, but they were actually trying to make a legit game adaptation. Yet they made so many changes…tisk tisk…it boggles the mind…

Really doesn’t help the image of movies based on games especially when they don’t stick to *ucking source material!
They can adapt a book, comic, graphic novel but when it comes to games they’re stinking piles and a waste of money.

Hey Phelous I heard they are making New sileny hill movie called Silent Hill: Revelations. It’s based on the third videogame and for once harry mason is in the movie along with Heather…
It really seems odd to me to try and do 3 when 1 hasn’t been done properly sense it was a direct sequel and all but I mean it all ready sounds a lot better off however I’m not really going to get my hopes up. We’ll see with it, should be interesting one way or another.
I was hoping you were gonna come around by now! I think having a mother (Dahlia/Christabella) who was going to burn her own daughter was too unbelievably crazy, especially because we’re not introduced to her until much later in the film. the cult is a little easier to brush off as crazy where as a mother who kills her daughter alone is just outrageously sad.
I’m also very surprised that you picked on some major scenes that actually make you feel sympathetic for the characters! The “cat meow” is just something cute to show the bonding and special relationship between Rose and her daughter.
I was gonna type more but I have a feeling that you just have a personal grudge against this movie due to your MASSIVE love for the games.
But come on, Silent Hill was 2o34u32oi424209483209482 times better than Resident Evil dude!
The director/Writer seemed to only have a fringe understanding of Silent Hill at best. None of these changes were nessisary. I don’t know why Hollywood does this. What is their reasoning? Perhaps they think Dhalia’s plans was a bit too strange and would soar over the audience’s head. These days Hollywood thinks we’re really stupid. Maybe they figured we’d “get” witch burning more easily.
A dedicated fan should rewrite this movie. Not me though I’m too lazy lol.
…The Butcher was good but he was wasted. “Oh look,a super monster is after you! Look out!” And then the battle is shit and he doesn’t appear anymore in the game. Fuck.
Anyway,i think that this movie was half decent because of the sets and the pathos around the city…But they have raped the story and half of the monsters are here just to be cool.

I’m new to this site, so I’m not sure of who she is, but I’m with that woman – I like Silent Hill 4 and it’s for several more reasons than Henry’s attractiveness, though I’m not discounting that either.
