BB-8 knows how to walk now, at least according to Star Trek. This “Walk Robot” does like to at least sort of move to some odd tunes.

Fun!
Was hoping for a mention of the actual origin of the song though.
See for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4om1rQKPijI
Somehow forgot to add one of the earlier examples: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sx1vZJSDNHc
Though yeah, it’s obviously the Hatsune Miku version in the thingy here, but yeah. :]
Ievan Polkka is a Finnish song so old (17th century) that it’s in the public domain & nobody knows who really wrote it.
BB8 secretly spend all his Tumblr time posting animated gifs of his favorite dreamy Korean boybands.
It looks like a cross between a derpy legless albino spider & Homsar in Death Star cosplay.
Woo… It sings memes from 2006.
Kinda wished it played “Domo Arigato” by Styx instead. Or any Star Trek theme.
I had to laugh at that Tumbl(e)r jab. Any jab at Tumblr is okay in my books.
I was expecting the music to be the usual fair, that being either Gangnam Style or some Europop song from the mid-90s to mid-00s. I was a little surprised that it was the Ievan Polkka, but then again, it was another song that became an internet meme, so that’s likely why it was used. Seems a little late in the game though, as that meme is over a decade old. For those not in the know, it’s called the Loituma Girl and features a looped image of Orihime Inoue from BLEACH spinning a Japanese leek while apparently singing the song. The More You Know. For some reason, it became popular with the Vocaloid crowd and versions with Miku Hatsune began popping up all over. Oh yeah, and the song is of Finnish origin, so I’m not sure how it came to be a popular meme with the Japanese.
I’m guessing you’re not that familiar with what Vocaloids are, as hinted by the mispronunciation of Miku Hatsune’s name. Perhaps that’s for the best. When you get into all the different varieties, both official types and fanmade types, you probably get a hole bigger than the Galaxy Hole.
I don’t think this toy should be used as a vibrator. Only negative events will come of this. However, I’ve been following Nash’s show WTFIWWY to know that someone somewhere (likely Florida) will make an attempt.
26 songs I predict from future bootleg toys:
1)Los Del Rio – Macarena. 2)Ozone – Dragostea Din Tei (Numa Numa). 3)Daler Mehndi – Tunak Tunak Tun. 4)Dave Rodgers: Deja Vu. 5)Max Coveri – Running in the 90s. 6)P.E.P.E. – Shadilay. 7)Zuiikin English – Take Anything You Want. 8)Smash Mouth – All Star. 9)Eduard Khil – I Am Glad (Trololo). 10)Rick Astley – Never Gonna Give You Up. 11)Matt Mulholland – Recorder cover of My Heart Will Go On. 12)Caramell – Caramelldansen. 13)Imogen Heap – Hide & Seek. 14)Darude – Sandstorm. 15)Jenny Rom & the Zippers – Waka Laka. 16)Fantasy Project – Dam Dadi Do. 17)Bag Raiders – Shooting Stars. 18)Simple Plan – How Could This Happen To Me? 19)Future – Mask Off. 20)Own City – Fireflies. 21)Seinfeld theme. 22)Vektroid – Macintosh Plus (Vaporwave). 23)Linkin Park – Crawling in My Skin. 24)Harry Potter theme. 25)Daniwell-P – Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya (Nyan Cat). 26)JohnsEdge cover of Mad World.
Maybe they thought that Hatsune Miku being a vocaloid was the same as a droid?
They should be careful with messing around on Miku’s turf. That girl is straight up gangsta, yo.
