Man, this Halloweenie guy is bad. All he does is make meta jokes. If it weren’t for Lupa and the Movie’s Knights I’d stop coming to this site altogether.
Seriously though, too bad about the funding. By the time we get around to saving him, Pumpkinweenie will have already been turned into Thanksgiving Dessert.
Halloweenie’s really a love-it-or-hate-it kind of show, personally I think he’s hilarious, but I understand the meta jokes can get pretty grating sometimes.
Love it, but I’m okay with just one or two Halloweenie episodes a year. The insanity wears off like a brilliant SNL sketch that gets milked too many times…Oh and that movie is right in line with a lot of the really lame kids edutainment stuff.
I’ve been watching all the old Halloweenie videos and (between laughing my ass off) was hoping you’d finally review Noonbory. Super happy to see my wish come true. This was a great little treat for us. Get it, “treat”, I’m so clever.
Anyway, I’m really sorry about Season 4. As a student, I can’t make monthly payments on Patreon, as I have no money, I just keep my adblock off so you get revenue (and I rewatch your videos constantly). That being said, I might be able to pitch in for a specific project, like Halloweenie, so if you start a Kickstarter or Indigogo or something, I’d love to help.
Lastly, I have some questions about the Halloweenie-verse (the greatest fictional universe ever). Is Pumpkinweenie supposed to be a puppet on the show with a puppeteer way too deep in charachter, are does this talking pumpkin just exist in this universe? Furthermore, is Halloweenie just a psycho with a Rorsach level obsession with a mask being his true face, or is that skull really his face?
Anyway, I really love your stuff Phelous. Thanks for giving us a happy Halloween, even if we didn’t pay for it.
I’ve had hint towards it both being a mask and his real head during the series and I like having it kind of open. But I do lean it a little more towards it probably being his real head as he wears it during his home life. Also he attacks Pumpkinweenie directly rather than ever trying to talk to his puppeteer. Maybe they’ve just lost themselves in this reality. The Halloweenie universe is an odd one. 😉
You’re one of my favourite people on the Internet. Your videos (specifically “Phelous and the Movies”) are consistently funny and made with great quality, and your two-part videos on “The Real Ghostbusters” (bad episodes/good ones) blurred the lines between entertainment and journalism. Your next video is always a surprise.
I’m posting this because I read a user comment somewhere on this site that said you’ve “changed” somehow, and the person wanted you to go back to being the “old Phelous,” or something like that. (He was also upset about you not doing Halloweenie because a goal wasn’t met or something.)
That’s BS.
Every artist’s style changes over time. That’s why Allison (OL) changed the format of her show, and while I’m not a big fan of the new format, I’m still a fan of hers and I understand why she did that– to keep producing. She found the old format stifling and hindered her video production. Change was necessary.
Neither you nor Lupa are the same person you were from five years ago, but that’s not a bad thing. I find you consistently produce excellent content and I always look forward to see what you (and Lupa) do next. I don’t really get “Halloweenie” or “Bootleg Zones,” but I’m just some dude on the Internet, and I still get to have “Phelous and the Movies.” So keep on what you’re doing, follow your instincts, and thanks for the laughs and (basically) free content– don’t feel ashamed about not doing certain vids if sponsoring goals aren’t met.
I enjoy the variety of weirdness, and I really find myself being pleasantly surprised when I click on the site and see a new Bootleg Zone. How long can you go on picking apart the same flaws and overused tropes in the very shallow American horror movie genre anyway?
I do like when Phelous reviews shitty cartoons and adds his own patented muppet voice, and edits. Beauty and the Beast had me in stitches. Also, yes…the “good” and “bad” Ghostbusters videos were very entertaining and enlightening. They cast a new light on something from my childhood.
Well, you may not have gotten the funding you wanted this year, but we still got a Halloweenie. I enjoyed the situation of a Halloween character having to watch a young children’s cartoon. Here’s to more, if you’re up to it.
Hopefully by next October your goals will have been met.
the characters in this animated whatever looks like either a discount Pillsbury Doughboy, Nintendo rejects, and villains who look like they were pulled directly out of those Mucinex commercials. I can see why Halloweenie never wanted to watch it all these years. still, it’s a decent episode for this year. here’s hoping that you will get enough funding next year. who knows, maybe we’ll get to see Pumpnkinweenie’s long lost cousin: Pumpkinheadweenie! (cue Halloweenie’s laugh sound effect)
I’m so very glad we got to see at least 1 Halloweenie episode this year. sorry you weren’t able to get the funding for a 4th season. I wish I could help, but due to my extremely low income and the fact that SSI is now at risk, I can only spend this money on myself since it’s all I have to spend on. still, I’m always willing to offer any assistance in terms of video editing & designs since I’ve been drawing for quite a long time. hell, by November 10th 2015 it will officially be my ultimate epic amerime project’s 16th anniversary (which I’m still fighting to one day achieve thanks to the support & the positive responses from 7 actors & actresses). if you ever decide to push the Old Man cartoon idea you had forward, I’d love to be apart of it. since I highly consider you to one day play the voice for one of my characters, it would be an honor to work with you. in either case, I wish you & Lupa the best of luck on your videos. and keep being awesome Phelous. ^-^
ps – I’m so glad you liked my Halloweenie fan art I did, although, I wish I can send you a copy either through the mail or through email since it was posted from my twitter account which is no longer active. it’s still in my binder which I can re-scan at any time.
You know… I didn’t even need you to tell me this was somehow a co-Korean production. All the characters animated in CGI while looking like they were designed to be either mascots for an Iced Tea franchise or Olympic Games mascots? Yep.
Sorry Season 4 wasn’t able to get funded 😛 but thanks for putting out at least one episode for us, Phelous! We don’t do Halloween in my country but it doesn’t feel like Halloween without Halloweenie. I guess Pumpkinweenie is gone forever. OH WELL.
Phelous, you, Lupa and Brad are seriously the only people I still watch from the old TGWTG. Your videos are great, and, for some reason, I really REALLY like your colour choices in every video you do. I dunno if that’s from colour correction, your camera, or just how your house and your merch is set-up but somehow the bright popping colours make me SO happy to look at! (I draw. This is a normal comment from someone who draws. I hope.)
Your content is always so top-notch, your subjects are always fun to hear you rant about or praise, your insights are really interesting and your silliness hit my “favourite things” button right-center.
I’m sorry I can’t always contribute to your vids. I live in Africa and the dollar is kicking our ass something terrible right now ^^; I’m afraid I can’t afford the exchange rate.
See, I knew you’d end up doing a Halloweenie episode this year, Phelan. That’s why I gave you a hard time on your news post about not doing it this year.
I was very sad when I heard funding wasn’t sufficient for a fourth season this year, so seeing this on the front page today has made me all sorts of happy. Halloween is finally here.
So I tweaked around with the Denpamen QR editor & I think these Noonbory critters look similar enough. http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff232/LikaLaruku/Games/Noonbory%20Denpamen_zpsq6dmwydq.jpg
I’m exceedingly happy that we get to see some Halloweenie this year, thank you, Phelous! This episode is a huge plus for me since I get inexplicably interested in regional programming (I know, I know, I’m a huge weirdo. I think it’s gotten worse because of you, because now I do get somewhat intrigued by differing media covers), and I’ve been curious about Noonbory since last year’s mention. 0 A 0
I haven’t heard about it before, but I bet I’ll be seeing those critters everywhere because I’m more aware of it.
I love Halloweenie as a bit; his unique brand of silliness as his producers desperately try to rein him in is always a treat that I look forward to this month, but this one was especially hilarious. Most of the bit was fairly standard Halloweenie, but the photoshopped-in minigun death and frog with his dick out were the sort of A-list immaturity we’ve come to expect from our favorite giant skull-headed kids’ show host.
I can’t help but feel as though Halloweenie was less like his own personality and more like your typical internet reviewer this time around (which made it kinda boring).
On the other hand, I’m glad Phelous shook things up this year despite only being able to make one episode.
SPOOKY!!! But the burning question remains: will Halloweenie ever get enough funding for a full length educational cartoon bootleg!? And will the Old Man narrate it?

If only he didn’t smell of pumpkin spice! I hear it was the GingerDead Man that killed his mother
yay halloweenie
What IS this?
More Halloweenie? I’m always up for more Halloweenie!
WOOOOOHH
Happy to see Halloweenie back for another year of constantly re-taking the same line in increasingly funny ways X’D
Remember Ruby Gloom? That was pretty good.
I remember getting a DVD with a bunch of those episodes on it back when I was around 9 or 10.
The only thing I can remember about it is the crow and that the characters lived in some sort of mansion.
That ending made me laugh quite a bit, I must admit, despite how sad it is. Pumpkinweenie remains in Vader limbo for another year.
He’s probably turned to Dark Jedi-O’Lantern by now.
Thanks Phelous!

Happy Halloweenie!
Gah, what a completely useless children’s show! Stuff like this makes me wonder if the things I watched as a kid were just as stupid.
Halloweenie seems a little…..bitter XD But HURRAY! He returns! Halloweenie is best movie reviewer!
Seriously that was pretty awesome, thanks for throwing the eager viewing audience a…..BONE so we could still enjoy our favorite undead spazz.
But there was no Bert The Skull. 🙁
Hey Phelous,

Well, a beheaded Halloweenie took the role of Zordon in an Episode of Bootleg Zones. Still, that could’ve just been him talking off-screen.
Thanks!

Thanks for the clarification.

I second the sentiment.
I enjoy the variety of weirdness, and I really find myself being pleasantly surprised when I click on the site and see a new Bootleg Zone. How long can you go on picking apart the same flaws and overused tropes in the very shallow American horror movie genre anyway?

Yeah, Bootleg Zones is actually my favorite show. But that’s just because I’m a collector and I like seeing the “wtf” stuff bootleggers make. 😛
Even Halloweenie dresses better than Tim Gunn.
This movie only has one thing going for it…The animation is better than Donkey Kong Country & Foodfight.
Some can some brave soul who tried to sit through Oogieloves tell me if this is better or worse?
& Ill form the head!
“It teaches kids to use their super senses that DON’T WORK THAT WAY!” Half expected ChaosD’Weenie to show up.
The critters in this movie look an awful lot like Nintendo’s Denpamen.
That was awesome. I hope Halloweenie reviews another stupid holiday special next year.

Halloweenie time is my favourite time of year and we don’t even celebrate him in my country…
Cheers

I meant to say 7 actors & 8 actresses. (sigh) I guess not all website comments & responses comes with an edit button.

I was going to ask if Haloweenie would make an appearance this October, but I didn’t want to be that guy asking stupid questions.
That said, all I got is…
HALOWEENIE! Halloeweenie. HALLOWEENIE! …EE-EE.
I’m exceedingly happy that we get to see some Halloweenie this year, thank you, Phelous!
