Finally something I actually own. The thing was probably more common in
Poland than the original console, at least in my neighbourhood and
school everyone owned one. Even if they didn’t, they lied thay had it
because it was such a classic item. And now to the basement to check how does Pegasus copes with over 10 years of lying in dust and humidity.

This thing is awesome. You should show us more of its games if you have the time.

Kewang sounds like a little kid trying to say Krang.

Only thing this is missing is a scene of a Genesis, NES, and Pegasus with funny voices. Yes it would be stupid, what’s your point? I have a feeling the Pegasus would sound like Bat Hero.

According to Wikipedia (the all-knowing trash heap), this Pegasus is (if it’s the same as the polish version) an NTSC FamiClone that has been forced (most likely at zapperpoint) to output PAL. So this console should play NTSC games without a lot of troubles, but PAL games most likely are a pain in the butt due to synchronization issues. (I believe there’s a YouTube channel out there that showcases the issues of PAL games running on an NTSC NES.)

Now, the cart presented in the stinger may actually require the keyboard that came with FamiCom BASIC.

Nice to see Tomas Guinan make a guest appearance. That playthrough of Low Gravity Sometimes Super Mario Brothers was hilarious.

I just wonder why they repeated the same 5 games over and over to meet the 9,999,999 game mark… Why not just make it a 5-in-1 cartridge? Maybe it was a scam.

That was great, you should invite him on again some time. ^_^ Now that you review both dollar store toys & Popstations, it’s like having an American version of Stewart Ashens.

The reason the clones have a so-called “Atari/Sega” port is that is a standard PC serial port and is thus crazy cheap as they were cranked out by the millions.

I just recieved my very first famiclone in the mail and i am super excited because it looks exactly like a Playstation 2 slim. I can’t wait to get my replacement power adaptor so i can listen to Unchained Melody while browsing through my 9,999,999 new games. However, i would also like to play all my wonderful NES cartridges, since my poor NES is suffering from “blinking grey screen of doom”. So i was wondering what you prefer to play your games on aside from the original NES.

I still use my original NES a lot of the time, though I have the lockout chip disabled on it so it won’t blink like that anymore.
Sometimes I use the Retron 5 though.

My NES still blinks even though i disabled the lockout chip and replaced the 72-pin connector. I just watched your Retron 5 review and the GB/GBA slot won me over, so now i know what my next purchase will be.

The NES has to have the most clones of any single video game system ever. There’s as much Famiclones as there’s Scooby-Doo movies in the world. So, why do most people rip-off the NES/Famicom so much? I wonder….

Phelous should check out the Unitech Saver V2000 Family Video Game Player! It is a South Korean famiclone shaped like a racecar. I’ve heard it’s one of the best famiclones out there in spite of the weird shape the console is in.
