    Yes, the cartoon Beetlejuice was basically a bad pun-o-rama, but his movie counterpart was a villainous perv who tired to marry an underage girl so he could escape into the land of the living to wreak havoc. That wasn’t gonna fly on a kids’ cartoon so turning him into a shape-shifting prankster who tells bad jokes was the natural direction to take for Saturday Morning/weekday afternoons.

    Also, I believe the ghost/monster world was called the Neitherworld since it was ‘neither heaven nor hell’ and again, no mention of the afterlife because kids’ show.

    But anyways, great video, Allison, and good choice for an episode; “Bewitched, Bothered and Beetljeuiced” was the better of the 2 Halloween episodes IMO.

    I think the movie established that when the dead die (except for exorcisms) they get sent back to the waiting room where they have to wait an obscenely long boring time before they can re-enter the “Neitherworld”. The cartoon’s a different continuity, but I can buy those still being the stakes.
