First in the episode with the giant wrestler guy who made crappy seabird art, and now in this one with the aggressive, buff ex-football player…Baywatch made-for-TV thugs are truly fearless and will attack anyone that the plot demands without regard to personal safety.

2:00-2:07 Sounds like the Internet. Also, 6:20-6:24 was really funny.

Why were the bad guys even written as bums? I’m pretty sure a hobo wouldn’t have the physical fortitude to fight an ex navy SEAL in peak condition nor money to acquire a gun. I think what happened is that perhaps they were originally just normal, relatively benign, homeless people who were there to highlight the ex football player’s character’s unwarranted aggression as targets of such. But at some point someone decided to spice up the script with more action, and they became the rapist-hobo-mugger-hijacker walking stereotypes that we saw in the episode. The original intent behind their characters completely lost in the process and making the aggressive character’s actions completely justified, instead of an affect of PTSD he got due to his wife being murdered.
