One of the most amusing combination of commercial branding on a toy. It’s The Transformers Pepsi Optimus Prime, or more accurately Pepsi Convoy!

Little do the Autobots know that just around the corner the Decepticons are armed with Mentos.
You know that only works with Diet Coke, right?
What is it with the Japanese and Pepsi? Pepsi Man is at least fun, this is just weird.
Sic Ban-Dai on the sellout bot!
I’m convinced Pepsi Convoy’s “raised up fist” is supposed to be a Pepsi can in his hand. When Convoy lifts the tab it transforms into a powerful CO2 cannon, ready to blast away his enemies with flavor and fun.
I burst out laughing when you put cans on the trailer and started moving it around. Oh god, that image… So funny… XD
And then you slammed a COKE on there out of spite. I laughed harder.
Ah, this gimmick is classic, but I’m surprised at how well it’s made. I wonder if Pepsi was funding the crap out of it to make sure the toy maker didn’t slack. And darn, I was hoping they came with a horribly expired Pepsi Twist. Oh well. Guess you’ll have to get your expired, pointless soda off eBay instead. :b
Don’t you mean he slammed a COKE on there out of…SPRITE.
Ha ha…hah ha ha …Mhh mm ha ha… MWAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAH!
I was thinking the exact same thing.
I wish I had the money for every brilliantly silly novelty item I’ve seen by now. My shelves would be packed with politician bobble-heads and tie-in transformers and chuck tingle “novels.”
You should have full-lenght show with just the toys and bootlegs having misadventures, like the short skits you do in these and Bootlegs Zone. I love just love watching you play with toys, it’s freakin’ hilarious! XD
Also, I’m amazed Brad couldn’t provide an expired Pepsi Twist, lol. I’m sure he has one somewhere…
Hahaha, I loved this review. All the references to the classic G1 series in this video were great, and luckily weren’t overdone. I laughed embarrassingly hard at “Why quench your thirst so recklessly?”
This was such a bizarre product, like what were they thinking? Well, besides obviously about getting more money. Maybe the idea really was to get as many people talking–whether positively or negatively, didn’t matter–about Pepsi and Transformers so they both stuck in their heads, so sale of their toy didn’t really matter since they both got a publicity boost. Seems the most likely thought process.
I’m happy sticking to Irn Bru though, thank you very much 😛
Also, I was surprised that there wasn’t a real Pepsi bottle in the toy. I guess it shouldn’t be all that surprising, it’d probably be massively shaken about, might be a risk of leakage onto the toy and box possibly, and it’s a heck of a lot cheaper to put a cardboard slip into the thing rather than bottles. But… idunno, I’d feel a bit cheated if I bought the thing and it had no real drink inside it.
Dr. Pepper is distributed by Pepsi in the Ohio area.
Only a 3 for one of his stats?! Pepsi Convoy, you’ve gone too far… oh, it’s just “fireblast”.
That’s what you get, for your stupid CO2 gun. And not having a Matrix dropped him a Rank point, down to 9.
I didn’t know this existed. Now I do.
Phelous, you have profoundly improved my life.
So Prime isn’t white red and blue because of the American flag but because of Pepsi? WHAT A TWIST! lol
Pepsimus Lime & Bubble Berry.
“That was my plan the WHOLE time.”
The end skit was hilarious.
Could you please do the Metal Build Destiny Gundam Heine Westenfluss Custom for the next MMZ? You can get it here: Amazon
It’s quite weird because there were 3 model kits before this version and it was part of a collaboration project between Sunrise/Bandai and J-rock/visual kei star T.M. Revolution (the voice actor for two side characters, Miguel and Heine in the original Japanese version of Gundam SEED/SEED Destiny). Also, it has appeared in Gundam SEED Battle Destiny and Gundam Extreme VS. Force for the PSVita. Certainly more weirder than Pepsi Optimus Prime.
