Any movie with Optimus Prime doing the trailer has to be good!

This actually looks like a pretty decent movie.

I like that the protagonist is a comic book artist, even if it doesn’t add much to the plot, because I like that the filmmakers thought outside the box and gave him a more interesting job than most movie protagonists have (usually it’s generic office job, or advertising).

Took me almost the entire video to notice you’re wearing scrubs… I’m an idiot. Great review, really enjoyed it.

A movie where everyone is pissed for no reason, that’s my childhood!

That movie does look better than it sounds, and having Eric Roberts mullet be the star looked like an obvious choice at the time.  Then you get mullet vs. ambulance, who will win… the cliff.

I’m 98% certain that drawing of the missing woman was drawn by John Romita Jr. Even with just a glimpse, he’s that distinctive.

The bad guy is Eric Braeden, aka Hans Gudegast of Young and the Restless and also a 60’s/70’s tv show called Rat Patrol

Obscurus Lupa, Hi. You don’t know me, but I watch your videos when you post them. While I was watching your video, I thought, “hot damn, this damsel knows her movies!”

Anyways, I liked how you spliced that corny scene near the end of the credits, but not exactly at the end of them. You could totally do that more in the credits scene of your videos with that “late 80’s funk” that used to play at 2 AM before movies. Pretty much think how Wild Things does it. I’m pretty sure they don’t have a copyright on the style ;).

This is where Stan Lee got the idea for his Marvel movie cameos. But seriously, I actually looked it up and this apparently was his FIRST film role. FIRST film role! 😀

Holy crap, the evil doctor is VICTOR!  :O

…you know, Victor from Young and the Restless? Probably the most recognizable character in the show’s history?

…guess no one else watched Y&R as a teen. We didn’t have cable. :-/

I thought the first missing woman looked familiar — IMDB says she’s Janine Turner.

1:08- I never though there would exist a movie about Sal Maroni from The Dark Knight and the voice of Darth Vader going  up against an evil ambulance.

At least Stan Lee’s appearance in this movie isn’t as pointless as his cameo in The Princess Diaries 2.

7:20- Jesus, can’t a doctor of nurse go through ONE DAY without taking care of these sick people?  Why couldn’t I have been a lawyer so I can bitch about helping people with leagal problems?

11:58- He looks like that soap opera actor whose name I don’t know because I’m not an idiot who spends his days watching soap operas.  (Reading comments from above) Okay, it’s Victor from The Young and the Reastless.  Thanks, joliet_jane.

12:36- I love how confused you got here.

I also thought it movie was gonna be like some weird spin-off of Killdozer, so we would eventually get KILLDOZER VS. THE AMBULANCE.  …Or you could get out your Transformers and have Ratchet fight Bonecrusher.

OMG…I love that the villain is Eric Braeden. I saw this on his IMDB page once, but never really thought much about it. Now I feel a need to watch this cheesy goodness if I can find it.

I have personally dealt with ambulances like the one in this movie, and I can tell you that they are no laughing matter.

Weirdly the guy playing Eric Robert’s ‘stunt double’ in the opening scene is actually  Michael O’Hare who would go on to play Commander Sinclair in the Babylon 5 tv series.

Ambulance was from the same director who gave us The Stuff, Larry Cohen. A very interesting guy- wrote and directed one of horror’s first true modern franchises, It’s Alive. As well as 1976’s God Told Me To, 1982’s Q the Winged Serpent, and 1987’s Return to Salem’s Lot. He also wrote for some of Bill (Maniac) Lustig’s horror films- Maniac Cop and Uncle Sam. His work has been so prolific and iconic in the landscape of American filmmaking that he named one of the Masters of Horror for the 2005-2007 Showtime series.

All of his horror films have since surfaced on DVD. It’s such a shame The Ambulance wasn’t treated with the same respect.
