Wow this episode was priceless, thank you Shang Tsung and Quan Chi for totally pointless plans, seriously how did Tsung even know Shao Khan would try and make an allience with Quan Chi. Also if my theory about the BeeWomen children inherating the powers from Reptile’s people are true than maybe that’s why last episode Kreeya was losing the war and this episode it’s Khan. You know Quan Chi’s plan could of maybe sorta of work if it was done much earlier in Conquest though it would have to tie into another plan, because Kung Lao might not notice anything to supious between Siro and Taja seeing as he would’ve just met them, but this late in the show is stupid because the character’s should know each better and random filler scheme’s don’t make any sense with everything that’s going on.
I guess Mortal Kombat: Konquest/Conquest, should be called Mortal Kombat : Full of Stupid. It is nice to see that the series does have good idea and plans, but never elaborate or explore them. Dang though, this episode though is just so full of stupid, I am still having trouble comprehending it all. Still, we do have SIRO the Greatest Mortal Kombat character though.
The opening confused me for a second. “Did Conquest decide to change it’s theme- oh, Phelous logo! Nice.”
Everything about this episode is just so awkward. And Quan Chi episodes are usually some of my favourites, thanks to his beautiful acting. I guess he figured that the reason Team Kung Lao get so little done is because they’re having sex all the time, so he and undead lady were only trying to cosplay in-character. The sexual tension moment between Siro and Taja made it seem more like she was shocked that he saved her, and that he’d just done it because he was contemplating killing her himself. And I love how Shang Tsung was just creeping on them from behind a bush.
Is there any reason that Raiden can’t stop Shang Tsung, or at least find him? Though I suppose he doesn’t have very high standards to live up to when there’s no conclusive evidence the Elder Gods even exist in this show, let alone that they make and enforce rules properly. “The hell with the rules!” seems to be a general theme of Conquest.
I actually enjoy all the episodes after this one though, what with Shao Kahn turning into the anti-Crowley. BETRAYAL.
Kung Lao is so airheaded in this episode. If I were him, and I saw Siro and Taja in bed together, along with talking in a weird style, the first thing that comes to mind would be “Who are you, and what have you done to Siro and Taja.” Kung Lao, to quote UHF, “STUPID! YOU’RE SO STUPID!”
this is hands down the funniest episode of the MK Conquest reviews. I can only imagine how much fun you’re gonna have with Defenders Of The Realm especially with Episode 3. also, I hope you liked the dvd I made for you which Linkara has mentioned he got from me at Magfest. it took me a long period of time to put together and I couldn’t fit everything on it. but I thought you would love the Mortal Kombat commercials I put on their since you were doing more Conquest reviews. which is getting me excited for the dvd release next month. I’m looking forward to the next episode.
the funny thing is that I actually got a phone call from Adoni Maropis back in 2013 and he talked about his experience playing as Quan Chi. out of the 14 actors & actresses I got a response from, 2 of them were from MK Conquest with the other being Jeffrey Meek. this was about my amerime project which they both liked. and while Adoni Maropis was the only actor to actually call me directly, it was fun talking to him and hearing about his memories playing as Quan Chi. if I ever hear from him again, I will highly recommend this review series to him. ^-^
Thanks a lot for that DVD! That was really cool of you to do. Always enjoy seeing older commercials and MK had some neat ones.
Sorry we didn’t get to actually run into each other.
That’s really cool that he gave you a call like that. His over the top Quan Chi is one of my favorite parts of the show.
I just happened to see him in another movie over at Ed Glaser’s recently, Bone Eater, where he played “angry native american”.
He wasn’t very Quan Chi in that role and no UHHHHHHHHs so we had to provide them ourselves.
thanks. and you’re welcome for the MK dvd. I had a lot to work with and I wasn’t able to finish all of it. a dvd like this can only take up so much space, so I had to split the commercials from the original MK to MK Gold. I also hoped you like the Killer Instinct Arcade cd I made for you as well since I made it for 4 people. I’m pretty sure that if I go to Magfest next year, we can meet. it wasn’t all fun since my foot was hurting and I was limping for the most part. but I did get to play the arcade machines and if you heard Big Blue in the middle lobby, that was my song request to the guys composing.
I’m so glad you liked the dvd since between your’s and Brad’s, your dvd took the longest to finish since I had to save each and every commercial individually. plus I added the theme at the end with animation I found online. I have plenty more commercials after MK Gold, but I wasn’t able to finish in time. if you’d like, I can make you another copy with the commercials from Deadly Alliance through MK9.
the funny thing about Jeffrey Meek’s response is that I see him as one potential actor for the role of the main villain who is inspired by Shao Kahn. what’s funny is that you have the actor who played Shao Kahn agreeing to eventually play a character inspired by him. if you need any footage from Defenders Of The Realm or any additional soundtracks, you can always contact me. once I finish posting all of the Killer Instinct soundtracks, I’ll be posting music from Battletoads, Mortal Kombat, SNES Jurassic Park 1 & 2, Maximum Carnage, and many more.
the other Mortal Kombat actors I was able to get a response from besides Adoni Maropis & Jeffrey Meek were Andrew Kishino (Sektor from MK9), David Lodge (Kabal from MK9), & Richard Epcar (Raiden also from MK9).
What are Taja’s special moves, for that matter? She was supposedly a fighter, but they hardly ever showed her fighting. I remember thinking, “Taja will NEVER be ready for Mortal Kombat!”
That’s how the movie handled it which isn’t how the games worked since Shang transforms into every character in the ones he can actually do it in.
Conquest is sometimes said to have been a prequel to the films but that gets messy really quick with Scorpion and Sub-Zero’s inclusion in the series. I usually think of it more as a stand alone, not that, THAT helps with it’s confusion all that much.
Always blows my mind when a plot thread is introduced only for Phelous to explain it’s never followed up on. Some really interesting and important character aspects brought to the surface and then beaten under the foam once more never to be mentioned again. Sometimes I just refuse to believe it.
It’ll be a sad day when we reach the finale. I’ve enjoyed these videos a lot.
Wonder if Phelous will move on to the animated series afterwards. That would be fun, but not as stupid.
As an aside, you’re the first person from anything related to TGWTG past or present to have replied to a comment I’d made.
And that’s why you’re the best.
2016 perspective here… I’ve been binge-watching Phelous’ old episodes lately, catching up on ones I’ve either missed or haven’t seen in years.I really appreciate how he actually had his own site from the start where all of those posts are still there in date order. Makes it a lot easier to view them post-blip.
YouTube is great and all, but we don’t own it. YouTube can change or die in the future and YouTube has producers by the balls since they’re the only decent video host around yet can arbitrarily destroy a producers career and work on a whim. You can’t rely solely on another social media to keep all of your content. The above post was made in Feb 2015. Who knew that Blip was about to crumble and vanish in a few months. Some people lost almost all of their online presence after that since Blip was their sole anchor! But since Phelan has his own site, all he had to do was edit in new video embeds. Having this “awful website” helped save his ass (and Lupa’s I guess) since it remained a constant after leaving CA and after Blip imploded.
That’s a pretty good way to describe this show. “Uuuuuuuuhhhhhhh…” As well as “Why bother?” Scorpion is a scorpion, Noob Saibot is an oil man, Sub Zero’s ice powers hurt him (at first), lack of character arcs, continuity all but completely ignored, ending twists never followed up on… At least it’s kinda entertaining sometimes. Good ol’ Raiden, always good for a laugh.
Hey, Phelous, for your next review, can you do another ‘Goodtime Classic?’ Loved your two Beauty and the Beast reviews, and Lion and the King was hilarious. (Nice Majora’s Mask reference in the second Beauty and the Beast review, by the way.) ;P

Where are all the comments? I’ve never watched a new video with no comments before lol.
The uuuuuuuhhhhhhest Mortal Kombat character! That was great.

I used to have a Kristanna Loken fanpage back when this show was on. It’s too bad she didn’t become more famouser.
I didn’t think the acting could get funnier, but Quan Chi proved me wrong. All the editing touches were hilarious too. Great job!
Thanks! It’s always a fun time on Conquest when Quan Chi comes out to play, haha.

And here I thought “Flawed Victory” was Phelous’ joke title. It’s like they’re mocking themselves at this point in the show.

What are Siro’s “special moves,” exactly? Besides magically taking his hands out of shackles.
Don’t forget his PRIDE!
What are Taja’s special moves, for that matter? She was supposedly a fighter, but they hardly ever showed her fighting. I remember thinking, “Taja will NEVER be ready for Mortal Kombat!”
Wait, wasn’t the idea behind Shang Tsung that he may transform into any victim of his soul drain thingy and use their powers?
How can he become Quan Chi?
That’s how the movie handled it which isn’t how the games worked since Shang transforms into every character in the ones he can actually do it in.

hahaha the Siro morphing into Quan Chi was hilarious. I will miss your MKC vids when they are all finished

I’ll be covering Defenders of the Realm for sure. Probably won’t be episodically like Conquest was but we’ll see.
Please Phelous episodically would be sweet.
Awesome, I’ll look forward to that =)

You gonna do movies again any time soon?
Nope, never again!
I’m working on crossover movie review now that should be out soonish.
It was a funny episode, but nothing quite matches the discussion punch and discussion blade. That was the pinnacle in these Conquest shows thus far.
I didn’t realize this, but you are getting really close to the finale.
I forgot how short MKC was actually.
Even though the show is flawed in MANY ways, it’s a campy stupid series and its sad how short it was. 🙁
*Campy, stupid FUN series
why don’t you just have a youtube channel instead of this awful website
ah he does have a Youtube channel though I don’t know how many videos are there, and how is this site awful I think it’s fine
If you don’t like the site, whatever, but it’s got buttons for the youtube channel all over it:

Is it just me… or does Shang Tsun on the moon look almost exactly like the Mac and Me poster?
“Quan Chi as Siro, the UUUUHHHHHHHest Mortal Kombat character!”
BWAHAHA!! All other jokes can go home. This one wins everything.
