CROQUET! I swear I wake up in a cold sweat dreaming that I’m still watching that croquet scene… My friends and I watched this one a few months ago and were mystified by the endless void that is the croquet scene. All of the film stopped mattering to us after that amazing endless slog of padding. It was our own ‘deep hurting’, and those who survived lived on to tell the tale.

Well, that and the glorious ‘fog’ that we never see. We kind of obsessed over that one…

Anyway, thanks, Lupa, for another wonderful year of reviews, and here’s to more to come! Merry Christmas, and the happiest of New Years to you!

Mike is pretty cute. He’s going to have a bit part, isn’t he?

Why does the first part of this movie remind me of House on Haunted Hill? Is Santa going to kill them off?

We do not have the “Wi Fis.”

He looks less Santa & more Skipper.

“I was BORN to be embarrassed.”

    Have a great 2015, Allison.

To be honest, despite Daniel Bernhardt’s classic performance as Siro on Conquest, I know him better as the runaway from Future War…well, the MST3K version anyway.

I just wanted to say that that was a very touching call back to JewWario at the end.

In the Asian guy’s defense, he probably thought that Claus was just a coincidence. I never thought that a Cynthia Rothrock movie could be so boring.

Now I know what to get my parents for Christmas, lol. You see my mother is a difficult woman to shop for, but if it’s one thing she loves it’s a Christmas movie and the more campy it is, the better as indicated by her marathoning the Hallmark channel every year. So starting two Christmases ago, I started buying her campy Christmas movies and since then it kind of took off as a tradition. It started with Christmas Vacation 2, where we bonded over something we could hate together and riff, it continued this year with Jingle All the Way 2 and the Santa Trap. And it’s something we seem to enjoy.

This movie is perfect for next year. Dad is a huge fan of kung fu and action movies and of course has seen a few Rothrock movies, but I don’t think he’s ever seen anything quite like this. Mom will of course gravitate towards it because it’s a campy kind-of Christmas romp. And I’ll probably enjoy it making smart ass comments in true MST3K style with dad.

Thanks for the review and hope you had a happy holiday season. ^ ^

Rewatching this review in light of recent developments, I think I get what you were doing here.

This is the send off to Obscurus Lupa, isn’t it?

You said some super nice things at the very end. In all seriousness, I think it was lovely. It really got me in the feels.

    Great ending. Thanks.

Davdi DeCoteau has a weird thing for casting action stars in roles with no action, that and extreme blandness. Needed more of that dog IMO.

    Also, dawwwwwwww. Heartwarming ending there.

No, Cynthia Rothrock would never lower herself to staring in a David DeCoteau film.
OMG! That is Cynthia Rothrock! I don’t want to live! I don’t want to live!
