A native Korean speaker would probably come up with a more natural-sounding translation, but Bootleg Zones are also Engrish Zones, so I guess it fits. Oh, and yeah, that line at the bottom of the back of the packaging, the Korean above “TEENAGE MUTANT NINJAS”, does say “Ninja Turtles” in Korean. 거북이 means turtle, with the “TURTLES” shell forming the ㅇ part of the 이.
Ah ok it’s the back story, good to know. Thanks a lot! And very good pizza!
And yeah I figured that was turtles, I have some other Korea TMNT stuff where the formed the logo and the characters looked similar but I don’t have them with me currently to check.
I was thinking that the set would have 4 Turtles to it, in different colors of course. lol All four couldn’t be green, since the bizarre colors is half of the charm.
These also remind me of a Dragon Ball Z set of model figures that I purchased in the late 90’s. They were maybe 3 inches in height and were assembled close to how the Turtles were. Crappy stickers included. I had to glue mine on. lol It was a cool set, since it came with Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, Gohan (as a kid, so he was short/small) and Future Trunks (even came with a sword).
What’s with South Korea and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? They made this and Our Friend Power 5. Also, they put April O’ Neil in that animated unlicensed Street Fighter movie.
These remind me of Gunpla (Gundam model kits) because you have to snap-on the pieces of both to put them together. But, the Gunpla I’ve built (2 SD kits and 1 HG kit) look more sturdier than these.
Hey Phelous, are you going to review any bootleg Gundam model kits by any chance?
