A new Phelous episode?
I wasn’t sure I’d live to see the day… Thank Halloweenie!
I hope he hasn’t run out of ideas for Halloweenie skits. XD
Love the opening…It would make an amusing “this was the first episode I ever saw.”
I was also thinking of the CDi Zelda games, & Sam & Max Hit the Road, & The Critic webtoons, & Queer Duck, & Borderbund’s Carmen Sandiego…Yeah…It’s definitely early computer animation.
5 years seems reasonable. It takes a single person a month to make 5 minutes of cell animation. Low budget, small staff. Now picture 1-3 people animating on a slow cheap 90’s computer.
Loved the Quantum Leap reference, its even weirder because I was watching some episodes on Netflix just the other day.
🙂
WHAT?! Not a Horror movie. REVIEW FAILED!!!!!!!!!
Seriously though. Missed you. Waiting for the return of Halloweenie’s show.
Death creates nothing.
I am soo glad ur still doing videos! :3 love it!
Why a new Phelous review? Good show old boy with that fakeout, can’t believe nobody saw through it.
Actually I sensed it was just you pulling a Porteous (new term for “fucking with”).
Ah yes, I remember the local bookworm of our school. We beat her to death with a book and the dvd case of Pagemaster. We were ironic little assholes back then.
Fuck Yeah, you’re back, Awesome. I was wondering if or when you were going to start doing movies again. Looking forward to more great stuff.
What? Aladdin mentions the “Sands of Time”, and there is no Prince of Persia reference? How peculiar… Anyway, it’s so good to have Phelous back. I sure hope he’ll get back to making Horror movie reviews too, at some point in the future. I’ve always wanted to see him take the piss out of one of the later Hellraiser sequels, for example.
Well, for one, happy to see a regular review from you once more, Mr. Phelous. I’ll admit while I wasn’t entirely convinced by the “Jacob’s Ladder” review that you were done, and considering all the Bootleg Zones you’ve done in the interim…I still felt a tad heartbroken at the prospect of you disappearing from the interwebs entirely. So good to have you back not gone.
I feel as if a lot of the animation in this was lifted from other cartoons I saw long ago in my early childhood. The style itself reminds me of this one show called “Adventures From the Book of Virtues” as well as a bit of a short-lived animated version of “The Neverending Story”. Since the integrity of whoever made this hot mess is rather dubious and they seemed to have no shame in copying Disney’s designs for Aladdin and Jasmine, I wouldn’t put it past them to trace over animation cells from those other cartoons for the express purpose of bringing this…”masterpiece” to life. *ahem*
Also…gotta say Aladdin’s design here somewhat resembles a childlike rendition of Shahrukh Khan…big name in Bollywood. Figures.
Last but not least, make Scheherazade into a talespinning villain actually isn’t that bad of an idea. Shame it had to be this movie that came up with it. Blech.
Holy shit Phelous is alive… again. I gues I can stop sacrificing sandwhiches to Xenu.
Anyhoo, really gald your’re back. Great review, very funny, great use of popular culture refrences and in-jokes from your show. (“Thank you for that” is a regular phrase for me now).
Keep it up and bring the laughs, we expecrt Halloweenie or someone better (impossible) to appear.
All the terrible singing makes me want Phelous to review Thumbelina (1994) or Happily Ever After (1990)
This movie is just screaming for a long stream of Youtube Poops.
Thank you, Phelan! I’ve almost gave up wating for new review, because they said there are no review anymore. But I cannot belive that, I was hoping this will not happen. Thank you!
I’m just going to say it, what’s with the hair?
Got little bit worried there, Phelous! Thought that you were done, but then you just surprise us with this awesome video! Was laughing my ass off the whole time, I can’t wait for the second part!
Not bad, not my personal favourite, but stil pretty good.
Perhaps most of the budget went into getting Elizabeth Daily to voice Paige. Didn’t notice it before, but her voice is Tommy Pickles/Rudy Tabootie/Buttercup.
& Jim Cummings, seeing as he’s doing half the voices.
This movie screams YTP material.
Also, the animation looks like it was made on an older version of MS Paint or Mario Paint (that SNES game where you can paint pictures, compose music, and play some games with a mouse).
the 1994 Fantastic Four movie is still a bit better than this and it was made by the same director
