So, someone thought this was a good idea then?
Just why? What is this? The camera/nonexistent cinematography and the awful audio editing are all so bad, it’s en-par with Birdemic. It’s so amateur and awful, I cannot actually believe that the Rena Riffel thought this was a good product.
YOUR deliberately silly dancing-in-shadow is better than this!

Wow… just wow. This is truly sad. It’s depressing to know the end product of someone’s–anyone’s–film product ended in this stupid pile of nothing.

About this episode’s thumbnail and opening, …Yeah, I’ve got nothin’.

I’m also having a hard time to believe that there exists a Showgirls 2, but I’m having an easier time believing that it would look so cheap.  It looks like a porn movie that was filmed with 10 year old cameras, 10 year old editing software, and stars strippers who never acted a day in their life.

6:21- Yeah, I remember that music from Thankskilling, Phelous’s review on Thankskilling, and Angry Joe’s Hotel Awesome.

9:58- “TO BE FAIR.”  Not I’m just expecting Toby Fair from the Cinema Snob’s review of Donald Tramp to come out of nowhere.

The lesbian sex scene and pillow fight scene are powerful enough to shrink my dick to nonexistence.

13:42- Nice job, movie!  You turned Allison into a Halloween decoration!  Dear God, you are so boring and uninspired!

Wow!  I had heard of this film and while I’ve never seen it before, I can tell just form the clips that it’s unspeakably awful!

Still, an excellent video again, Allison!  I love this series from the opening intro sequence to the set to Allison just being Allison.

Kudos to all involved!  Keep up the great work!

The sequel to Showgirls looks like Pink Flamingos.  I did not expect that.

To answer the question, “Is this boner material?” the answer is: “Not even close.” Of course, I’m not turned on by lesbian sex scenes anyway, because in most of them it’s painfully obvious that they’re intended to titillate males, and I resent the artless way they try to do this. Clearly that was the intention here–the fact that they’re both wearing high heels on the bed is a dead giveaway (Cut to fat, hairy-chested, gold chain-wearing, cigar smoking producer. “Oh yeah! Goils makin’ out wearin’ high heels! Dat’ll have da guys creamin’ in dere shorts!”).

Kudos! I never liked obvious manipulation; the people who make it think you’re a brainless neanderthal with no sense of self-respect or taste.

Well, I don’t know how much self-respect, taste, or dignity I have, but I really dislike obvious attempts to manipulate my emotions. If a movie is going to get a response out of me, it has to work for it.

When I saw the lesbian sex scene, I laughed my ass off. She looked like she was throwing that poor woman around, and I am not an expert on how women have sex with women… But I’m certain that’s not how women without dildos have sex.

Showgirls 2: The Shitshow Continues: Lolcow Boogaloo.

The reference humor makes it feel like it wanted to be remake while already being a sequel.

Might be fap material for Diamanda Hagen.

Yeah, To Bold Flee is not a good movie but it’s still better than Showgirls 2 and did have some great moments (in spite of the Walkers).

*sees thumbnail* Umm, excuse me, I need to, uh, attend to something before I, uh, watch this one.

But seriously, where was all this erotic stuff in the first Showgirls? (Just kidding, this movie is less erotic than the first. And that movie taught my pre-teen self what “sexual disappointment” was.)

I never understood the hate the first one got. It was quality sleaze. Sleaze has a place in film. Realistically of course, it didn’t belong on the silver screen — It was a gloriously overpriced crappy movie that you rent at the VHS store just for the boobs.

And here we have the tragedy of the second movie: if only they realized that all they needed to do was show some pretty nude girls dancing and have people buy their DVD just off of that and the Showgirls fame/infamy. But they went and actually tried to make it what the people involved with the first one THOUGHT they were making — an actual movie with drama, erotica, plot and characters.

And why in the world did they hire over the hill strippers for the roles? My best guess is those were the best “actresses with dance background willing to do erotic scenes” they could get with their budget.

At least we can imagine that in a parallel universe they did everything right and it’s a successful erotic schlock series of Witchcraft proportions.

Also no, Allison, this is not boner material, not even close.

This reminded me of the classically schlocky “Zombie Strippers” – which I watched for about 10 minutes before switching off. It’s just not titillating enough to be comedic, not explicit enough to be erotic and not well enough produced to qualify as a film worth watching for any other reason. It might qualify as “So Bad, It’s Good”, but I wouldn’t want to inflict it on anyone else.

(You could always ask Jill “Sursum Ursa” Bearup, as she has reviewed it)

Anyone else getting a Mulholland Drive feel? The Marilyn Monroe, the little person, perhaps some of the occult stuff. Maybe I’m just thinking that Rena Riffel looks like Rita from Mulholland Drive when she wears the blond wig.

This movie makes me feel uncomfortable.

Could be because Rena Riffel was also in Mulholland Drive. I’ve never seen it, but something tells me the movie would make a lot more sense if I did.

What if this movie doesn’t make sense because she made it as an inside joke about her career? She was in Mulholland Drive. She was in Striptease. Most of the roles she’s had are strippers. She also wrote, directed, and starred in Trasharella. What if this movie would make a lot more sense if you’ve seen her entire filmography?

No, I’m probably giving this movie entirely too much credit.

When I first saw the title card, I was like “Allison isn’t really appearing topless in this, is she?” but sure enough, you did. Well, can’t let Brad Jones have all the nude reviews, now can we?

Speaking of Brad Jones, the quality of this film looks like a movie that would be reviewed by the likes of the Cinema Snob or by Diamanda Hagan, probably more likely Hagan. It looks like it would fit in her wheelhouse.

Everything looks so half-assed. I can understand the sets due to things like budget (if there was even a budget). However, even the acting is sub-par. I’m not expecting Oscar worthy performances, but it’s pretty evident that not much care was given in the performances. Well, who knows how many of these people are even actors and aren’t just a friend doing Rena Riffel a favour.

Watching those comparison scenes from the original Showgirls, the original ones all look superior in every way. That falling down the stairs scene from Pennies from Heaven was especially embarrassing to watch. You can tell it’s obviously acting as the guy takes his sweet time to roll down, as to not hurt himself. The couldn’t just have had the sound of him falling? Or cut to him at the bottom of the stairs? That would have made it much less awkward.

Another zinger against To Boldly Flee. Yeah, one thing that I didn’t care much for that movie was the wholesale ripping off of references. I remember Rob Walker defending the references, saying it was satire, so it’s okay. And I thought ‘no’, because then you’d have to give a pass to all the Seltzerberg ‘spoof’ (using that term incredibly loosely) movies, as well as this one.

Some of those effects. I think I’ve seen better ones on these review shows. And you guys never made a Kickstarter for your series. Also, this movie has more dropped plots than The Room. But it appears not to share its levels of unintentional hilarity. I think that’s what the original Showgirls is for.

When I hear the name Katya, all I can think of is the drag queen with that name.

It’s a shame that this movie isn’t more hilariously camp and is just a bad movie instead of a so-bad-it’s-good movie.
