Not sure what’s odder, One-Scene Guy getting a name-title when he appears… or that he’s called Mola Ram.

Does this movie come with subtitles? That’s the only thing I could think of that might help with the mishmash of unintelligible dialogue.

Sounds like the movie may have gone through some rewrites which would explain the continuity issues.

Whatever happened to the Tommy Wiseau TV show? I was excited to learn about that, and then it just kind of…dropped off my radar. Is that something you’d consider podcasting/movie nighting on?

Not knowing anything about the original Samurai Cop, I was hesitant to watch this video. But then I saw “Tommy Wiseau” tagged at the bottom, and, oh man, I’m a slut for Wiseau[‘s movies].

The depth you go into when analyzing B-flicks is one of the things I admire most about your reviews. You still kind of account for their inherent dumbness factor, but other than that look at their aspects the same as any other movie. As much as I enjoy riffing, it’s good to remember that that isn’t the only way to enjoy a silly movie.

I had to watch your review on the original Samurai Cop before watching your review on the sequel, which is shockingly rated 8.1 out of 10 stars on IMDB, and I guessing it was mostly rated by the “so bad it’s good” crowd.

3:17- I’ve watched plenty of episodes of Power Rangers Samurai to tell me what a samurai is.

4:55- I recognize the sword that chick is using.  It’s either Snake Eyes’ or Storm Shadow’s from the G.I. Joe movies (which also had Gerald Okamura as The Hard Master).  I can tell by the Arashikage symbol on it.

Wait.  …Tommy Wiesau is in this?  …What parallel Earth have I woken up to?  Also, with the goggles, I’m thinking he’s trying to pull off a Dr. Insano performance.

    7:46- ASS!

The lighting in this movie reminds me of that in the movie Punisher: War Zone (minus the lens flare).

This movie has more plots than the entire Hobbit Trilogy.

18:25- That brick wall just wobbled!

Hooray!! Another Episode!!! And for Samurai Cop 2!!!

All I’ve seen of the first one is your review, which was great, and some footage shown to me by my brother who loved it to little pieces (he’s a major Robert Z’Dar fan). Did they dedicate the movie to him?

My jaw hit that ground when I found out about the inclusion of Tommy Wieasu. It’s so weird and random…yet glorious!!

Shame he’s not as quotable as The Room (which I’m beginning to suspect the entire world has memorized line by line)

I was afraid this movie would be trying to hard to be so bad it’s good. It seems it’s trying to make a shlocky VHS movie for the modern age.

11;17 maybe you might have to get together a group of people who it’s more marketed to and do a census. Maybe it’s related to all the weirdness from the first film like the horny nurse…hey what happened to her? No horny nurse: zero star movie

14;37 with that in mind, the food could not have been that appetizing

Did you see the Red Letter Media interview with Mathew Karedas? It’s really interesting.

Also, can I just say your jacket is awesome! Where did you get it?

Great review: just what I needed today. 🙂

that comment about the room is not true!

Well, it’s official. I definitely have breast cancer.

Look don’t worry about it; everything will be fine.

And I haven’t even seen the thing! Yet my brain, like everyone else on the internet, has a special compartment dedicated to lines from the Room!

        Why, Internet, why, why!!

You are tearing me apart Internet!

        My point.

The one fact that stood out for me during this movie is that Bai Ling doesn’t seem to age. She looks almost exactly the same now (I might even say better) as she did in The Crow in 1994. I wonder if she knows something Juan Ponce de Leon didn’t (and I wonder how many will get THAT joke!).

This has like 99% on Rotten Tomatoes right now. Heck yeah. 😀 It would probably be 100% if it wasn’t complicated like you said.

It’s a shame that this one doesn’t have the same feeling as the original, as the so-bad-it’s-good factor makes me want to see the original. This one though, from your description, kind of turns me away. If it’s as incoherent as you make it sound, I don’t know if I’d enjoy it as much. The original, at least, seems pure cheese-tastic.

I may give this one a shot once I see the original, but at the moment it just doesn’t seem as interesting.

    R.I.P. Robert Z’Dar.

I’d guess from your review that this movie just had too many hands all over it’s production, and like a lot of movies that try to walk the line between action and camp-comedy…it just ended up a mess.

Overall, I’d say getting Wiseau was a bad idea for this. Whatever the tone was before, it’s hard to play off your movie as anything but  camp when you deliberately cast someone that you know can’t act.

    His hair is bodacious, man.

3:06 Mel Novac could play Donald Trump. He has that whole Oompah Loompah thing going on.

Wiseau’s hair is also bodacious. What if he had played Willy Wonka in Tim Burton’s Charlie & the Chocolate Factory?

Oh, I’m loving the terrible special effects & green screens. XD

    That Wiseauglish…..I’m crying here. XD
