I’d like to see you tackle the actual Lifetime spoof that the Lifetime network did with Will Ferrell.

Yeah, fun fact from my friends who roll with the celebrity cat crowd (Yes that’s really a thing) and were working at Cat-con…. the reason Tard doesn’t walk much in this movie is because her owners are far more interested in making money out of her than investing in Tard’s medical needs due to her genetic condition and have her be held and touched and exposed to people well beyond what she’s confortable with.

    Merry Christmas!

Seems like Grumpy Cats Christmas is taking a few ques from Garfield and A Talking Cat!?!, but is no where as bad as either of those movies.  It does help that Grumpy Cat took the less serious kinda 90’s movie route instead of being too serious or just gone with horrid CGI like Heidi or Vampire Dog.  I can see myself enjoying this movie on a lazy day.

The Cinema Snob really wanted to get rid of his copy of this movie, so he sent it as a half-assed Christmas gift to someone he works with.

I never got into the whole Grumpy Cat crazy, because I was more interested in people on the internet who make video review about crappy things for a living, thank you very much. And the only things I like to watch on Lifetime are reruns of Frasier and How I Met Your Mother.

Holy crap, I remember those Bitter Beer commercials. Grumpy Cat’s “acting” in this movie reminds me of what The Nostalgia Critic said in the Baby Geniuses review: “It’s basically somebody’s home movie with a budget.”

    9:02– Y’know, for kids!

10:57– Or an episode of Law & Order: SVU. One of the two.

    Grumpy Christmas, Allison.

Thanks for the Dragon Tales memories. I forgot about that show! Although, what was that gassing scene? This was a pretty good review. Also, your kitty is so cute! 😀

    Hooray!!! Movie Nights!!

Just wondering: do you have a specific time for when each episode comes out or is it when you feel like posting an episode (hope this doesn’t sound mean spirited).

Just watched the Cinema Snob review: you both have cats so it comes down to who has the weirdest clothing items

Hey! I didn’t know anyone remembered Dragon Tales! Thank you for relaying my fears that I was going insane.

Only the cat’s funny in this film: everything else looks dull. Great review: I hope at some point you’ll  do Santa With Muscles. Also, have you ever heard of A Mom for Christmas? It’s a Disney TV film about a girl who wishes a mannequin to life (played by the Olivia Newton John) so she can have a mother…and it’s directed by George Miller.

Ash steals the show in weird sort of way.

Yes; Mad Max, George Miller. Just let that sink in.

Merry Christmas and I can’t wait for your next episode 🙂

Sadly, that was George T. Miller – different guy. Though “T.” has been involved in a rather wide range of movies too, just like plain George Miller.

Nice to see a Movie Nights take on this film! Too bad this film came out well after the run of MST3K otherwise it would have fitted in perfectly with the Christmas movies that Joel got for the bots – The Christmas That Totally Ruled (about a curmudgeonly old man who learned the true meaning of Christmas), The Christmas That Wasn’t That Bad (about a curmudgeonly old woman who learns the true meaning of Christmas) The Christmas That Really Kicked Ass (about a curmudgeonly old man AND a curmudgeonly old woman who learn the true meaning of Christmas), Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever (about a curmudgeonly old cat and a curmudgeonly old young girl who learn the true meaning of Christmas)

The Dragon Tales cut made me laugh out loud. I really expected a Dragon Sound clip there…

Now I feel sheepish (bleat). Also I find that kind of sad; it was a really hilarious idea. This George Miller apparently made the second Neverending Story and a Robinson Crusoe film starring Pierce Brosnen looking like Fabio. That is really something else.  The IMdB even said ‘not Mad Max George Miller’; what’s with Australia and this name? Was it a trend? Have you seen this film? Again just checking if I’m crazy

Heeeheee (I don’t write ‘lol’) that was brilliant! Loved it! 🙂 Also, MST3K is back so you never know…

Me too. I was taken completely aback by that clip. I wonder why no one talks about it that much….

Y’know, with the low-key sardonic, sarcastic tone the woman playing Grumpy Cat has, and the way he acts and her cynical outlook, and the particular jokes here… this is a Garfield movie. Really look at these lines and tell me this doesn’t sound like something Garfield would say:

Girl: Don’t give me that look!
    Grumpy: What look?
Girl: That look of judgement you’re giving me!
Grumpy: This is my look of tacit approval.

Heck, even the joke about changing the script was something the newer Garfield show did. I gotta thank you for doing this review, I was genuinely surprised at this movie not sucking like it really should’ve been.

It was better than I expected. I laughed at the self deprecating meta humor. It would have been even funnier if it had really crap low-res green screening with washed-out colors..

Heheh, too bad Keyboard Cat never got his own movie.

Cats don’t like looking at camera or mirrors.

I dunno,  Grumpy Cat’s voice is really not fitting for this type of cat. I expected something way older and grumpier.

The cat has dwarfism, that’s the reason why she has some trouble getting around. There’s no special medical care that could be given that could fix that. She will never walk normally. Just like humans with dwarfism, they can only make do with what they have. Also, there’s an entire breed of cat built around that particular genetic mutation called Munchkin and they are perfectly healthy pets. Not saying the owners aren’t a tad exploitative but they are not neglectful of the cat like you’re claiming.
