Hey, Phelous. I really enjoy your bootleg zones, but do you plan to do some horror movie reviews for Halloween? Thanks.

I was kind of thinking the same thing.  I recently got into his movie reviews and have been watching a lot of them.  Then I see the regular movie reviews practically stopped at the end of last year.  Would love for him to get back into making them more often!

It looks like they were trying to make the “King of Vampires” also look like The Joker.

You sure the mummy’s name isn’t spoken like a curse?

“THAT BLOODY MUMMY IS AT IT AGAIN!”

And that must be the best skit so far! It got LAYERS!

Not bad there for a generic monster line, then again there are a bunch of generic monster type movies as well.  So, it all rather fits together rather well.  Since it is Sun Gold and Simba there behind these figures, they do have at least some standard of quality and creativity.

Now the real question is this, are there any knock-offs of Grabloid and evolved forms figures?

I do care who won that battle! Anyway, hooray for the Simba/Sungold team-up. Since Simba is still very much alive, maybe they can answer some of the questions surrounding Sungold. (Providing that they really had a licensing agreement with Sungold and weren’t just bootlegging knock-offs.)

Sharp Man Joe. ha, man Phelous, you slay me. also, these toys are actually rather interesting. although, I think the packaging is even more impressive since it kind of has that 90’s Kenner vibe to them which Neca seems to replicate now a days. it’s good stuff.

speaking of horror toys & the Halloween season, here are 2 horror movie based toy lines that I could suggestion for a possible MMZ review and/or for Phelous and everyone here on the site to track down for their horror toy collection. the first is the Spencer Gifts R.I.P doll line of Michael, Jason, Freddy, Leatherface, & Ghostface. they were 18 inch dolls sold in these big boxes around the late 90’s at Spencer Gifts based on the iconic slasher villains. they came with 1 or 2 accessories and when you press their stomach, they make noise. the only one I had was Jason, however the look of the figure was more similar to Jason Goes To Hell even though the box he came with had screenshots taken from the original film. even if that were the case, it’s still one of the most impressive Jason toys from Jason Goes To Hell I’ve seen. you can find them every now and then on ebay, amazon, and a few sellers from Etsy.

the second suggestion is something I would love to see you talk about in a review and one of my most favorite toy lines I’ve ever seen called Movie Maniacs (which brings back so much nostalgia for me since I used to try to track these figurines down at Toys R Us, Brainstorm Comics, and my most favorite store of all time: Suncoast). before Neca’s Cult Classics & Mezco’s Cinema Of Fear toys, there was McFarlane’s Movie Maniacs. made by the same company that made Spawn, Movie Maniacs were mostly 7-8 inch action figures of slasher villains and characters from sci-fi & horror movies. 7 series were made in which the first series had Jason, Freddy, Leatherface, and both Patrick & Eve from Species II. Series 2 has Michael Myers, Ghostface, Norman Bates, Pumpkinhead, Chucky, & Eric Draven from The Crow. they sometimes had dioramas such as Bruce attacking the Orca from Jaws or even 18 inch action figures of Michael & Leatherface (still one of the best versions of the character for collectors). if you want to track them down & possibly review them (Phelous included), I can easily recommend sites such as actiontoys.com, amoktime.com, toydorks.com, & cmdstore.com. even after almost 20 years (since 1998), most of these action figures are still highly impressive.

These things are sort of amazing! Hey Phelous, I can check German ebay for you as Simba  stuff regularly  makes its way there.

Simba made and released a lot of KOs, including what I call “Night attack Quake” – G1 988 targetmaster Decepticon Quake, who oddly comes with  comic book accurate gun instead of targetmasters, as well as some Gundam knockoff.

So I want to dress as Freddy Krueger this Halloween. While browsing a costume store for make up I found this: http://www.party-discount.de/Maske-Nightmare.htm?websale8=party-discount&pi=KFP192&ci=182-4443 “Filmreife Profi-Halbmaske Eddy Nightmare in Film/TV-Qualität.”
Seems like germans like to get creative with Freddys name 😀
Now I picture Joe and Eddy roaming the dreams of german teens together 😀

Hey Phelan, why are all your videos “unlisted” on Youtube. Doesn’t that make it hard for new fans to find you?

I dunno if it was intentional, but the paint job makes it look like their flesh is melting off.

Freddy’s…I mean Joe’s left hand is the same color as Bloody’s Mummy’s, & his other hand looks like a swim fin. I can’t figure for the life of me where his mould came rom, so I’m guessing he’s made from scratch or from a collection of miscellaneous overused moulds, the sort of thing all these bootleggers do when their quality finally reaches rock bottom. Of course, those are the funnest to look at because they’re such awful mismatched clusterfucks with the worst imaginable paint jobs.

The smaller non-articulate King Vampire looks like a buff Batman TAS Joker.

Ceppi Ratti’s mecha bootlegs wouldn’t be half bad, if they used paint instead of a shit ton of stickers. http://www.collectiondx.com/gallery/v/Toys/CeppiRatti/     Then again, they also made his abomination: http://www.giocattolivintage.com/t11510-lady-oscar-rose-versailles-bambola-doll-ceppi-ratti-cm-21-divisa-rossa-rara

Up close, Bloody Mummy kinda looks like a drunk, annoyed Robert Patrick covered in toilet paper.

The end skit was extra funny ^__^

I’m not Phelous but if I had to guess, I’d say Phelous’ videos are unlisted in order to direct traffic to phelous.com and let it have first dibs on the hits.  I imagine videos become listed once they’re old enough.

It might also be a copyright thing–like maybe unlisted videos are less likely to be slammed by the copyright robots.

Main reason actually is I’m still catching youtube up to the current stuff and it’s better to do that a bit slower than just slam subscribers with all the remaining videos.

Wait…If you’re uploading your oldest stuff alongside current stuff at the same time, won’t the mixed up continuity of Phelous & the Movies confuse new fans?

Say, what’s the scale of these figures compared to the old figures from “The Real Ghostbusters?”

I thought this was a Where’s Wally (or Waldo) bootleg from the preview picture.

It’s quite rare to see a Freddie knock off mixed in with the Universal monsters, then again it could have been worse, there could have been a Harry Potter knock off toy too.
