I’ve been very into hearing podcasts during work lately (and sometimes before bed). Even though I’ve never watched this show in my life (and am apparently all the better for it), I enjoy hearing your take on it, since you’re both good at describing such an utterly bizarre show and putting its stories into context with the previous seasons. So, if you do want to spend another year pontificating on “The Supersamateur Hour”, then yeah, I’ll be listening. But I’ll be feeling for you the whole time, because, man, this show…oof.

The show was actually pretty good for the first 5 seasons. It’s just that the show was intended to only last that long, and from that point on they’ve sort of just rambled around with no clear direction. Even season 6 could have been really good if they handled some stuff differently.

I hope you keep the podcast up next season, I don’t watch Supernatural but I have some friends who are into it and it’s hilarious to hear your opinion of it vs. theirs.

You’re podcast is the only thing keeping me hate-watching the show.

And you’ll miss a year of “I cast magic missile at the darkness!”

They called the darkness “amoral” which would be a good time to bring in Lovecraft stuff but they will probably wear suits and go to their ancient headquarters of hotel/office/basement. The show is so weird because, like you said, they have a world of ideas to go with but instead just mope around.

I just realized that Season 7 / Leviathans is like the only season where the brothers weren’t keeping secrets against each other.

Season 1-5 – “I’m okay Dean, I just have demon powers.”
Season 6 – “I’m okay Dean, I just don’t have soul.” “Oh look its Eve, who cares.”
Season 8 – “I’m okay Sam, purgatory didn’t effect me.” “I’m okay Dean, the trials didn’t effect me.”
Season 9 – “I’m okay Sam, there isn’t an angel in you.” “Oh look, a mark from Cain; let’s use that instead of trying to find the Colt, A GUN THAT CAN KILL ANYTHING EXCEPT 5 THINGS!” “Lets never mention that gun again”

I can’t believe they killed Death, he was my favorite still alive character! Still, I guess it was worth it if it leads to a zombie apocalypse.  Also, they actually did sort of set up that polish kid, remember when Crowley was talking to that hamster? That’s what they were talking about…

Also, you should keep making these! And hey, why should Sam fear dying? He knows there is a heaven! He would probably go to hell I guess but Crowley did say he’s been making it a better place.

Death never really matter in the Supernatural universe anyway. Dean, Sam, and Cas have all died and come back. But yeah, stupid way to show how little it matters by killing someone immediately after they kill Death. And yeas, do these next season, please.

I put this on while doing yardwork at my Father’s place and he got a real kick out of it. This was such a dull season. They are setting up for a paper thin finale. The show should have ended years ago. I have always been more into the X-filesque stand alone episodes. They never really pay off a story line. I also hate when they just mention a past character or shoehorn them in. Bobby kind of made the show great for a while. I really had to think back to why that Rudy guy was supposed to be a focus. Cass does nothing anymore, and now he is evil again? I seriously love to hate this show. Thanks for the review. You two are awesome!

That is really silly how much they talk about Family and brotherhood ,while never even mentioning their younger brother ever again. That car was actually a better character then anyone on the show. It would be interesting to talk with the writers and see how much they are really just taunting us with inside-jokes. They bring in Death that is really a chance to delve deeper into something interesting. No, he just stands in a corner and waits to get stabbed by his own sickle that he weilded since the beginning of time. What a bunch of ijiots. I kind of see no reason to continue the podcast. That show is just a waste to spend effort on shrugging and wincing.
