Definitely a better ep but still this show drags a bit in the middle. Filler is fun sometimes but it feels like the last two, and now it looks like, the next ep is filler. But its really nice to see Dean and Sam not lying and scowling at each other. Now we get Sam looking at Dean like hes a time bomb instead, but then being stupid with his brother. I’d make more sense if they maybe played up that Sam was a little in denial about Dean too.
They kinda touched on that with Sam saying that Cain had learned to deal with the mark and live “normally”, so maybe Dean can too. And maybe Dean could have thrown a comment at Sam that he seems like he doesn’t want to stop working, and that would be comparable to Dean’s “keep myself busy with outside stuff so I don’t have to deal with the real issue at hand” sometimes attitude.
It feels like this show is on the cusp of touching on issues more deeply and in interesting ways but then they just shit the bed .
