My own Bebop moves fine at the pin wrists. It may just be a quality-control variation, because while those joints on mine were cool, both my Bebop & Rocksteady were a bit sticky at the knee joints when I first opened them.

Agree on the head sculpts being a bit…off, but they’re still good figures. I’m not terribly excited about a set of Movie Turtles, but I recognize that selling (mostly) the same mold four times helps make this niche line profitable for Playmates, and I’ll most likely buy them as well to continue supporting it.

You okay there, Phelous? The lighting looks a little bright for you.

Glad you finally got around to reviewing Bebop and Rocksteady!

The figures are great… but I do agree some of the design aspects are a bit confusing. Since they don’t really match their original cartoon incarnations that well. Or even their original toy incarnations. The biggest issue I have with the figures is that they left off Bebop’s Ponytail and his Piggie Tail. Just seems like a glaring mistake given how much attention to detail they devoted to them. They’re still great figures though. Just definately more stylized than the TMNT.

The lack of Shredder, Splinter, or Krang in the line so far is kinda boggling. Or hell, even April. They should have at least included Shredder in Wave 2. Though I am glad to see Bebop and Rocksteady get some love after all these years of them being almost forgotten due to Peter Laird’s hatred of the Original Toon characters. The fact that they also recently got introduced  in the IDW comic (Check It Out!) and are coming up in the New Cartoon are awesome though.

The “Original Movie” turtles are a cool variation for them to do… but they still should have come after Splinter and Shredder at the very least. Though I understand that both characters are planned for possibly the next wave of Classics after the Movie Turtles. I really just hope like you we finally get a Cartoon Accurate looking Shredder. Though I wouldn’t mind a “Original Movie” Shredder added to the mix as well. As long as they do TMNT I, and not Super Shredder.

Apperantly there are some rumors we’ll see Krang in the line next year. They name dropped him at one of the cons and suggested that he might be an oversized figure, possibly akin to the original Krang Android Body figure. We’ll see. Hopefully he also comes with the classic bubble walker if they do him though.

When I was a kid, I had BeeBop, but not Rocksteady.

Now, what kind of crap is THAT?

I’ve been drinking for two days so this is new to me. I struggle with the capcHa when I’m sober so this one was a real challenge but I prevailed so now I get to type. More MK Conquest please! Now if you will excuse me, there is an unopened beer on my floor with my name on it. It’s warm.

If Playmates doesn’t honor James Avery’s amazing performance of The Shredder with a Classic Figure of the Original Toon Shredder now after the tragic passing of James Avery… then screw Playmates. R.I.P. James Avery. Still the most awesome version of the Shredder. Not to mention everyone’s beloved Uncle Phil.
